I started Nyack Fitness with the intention of getting myself into shape after many years of doing nothing. A healthy routing is all I wanted. What I didn't expect was to have a trainer evaluate everything I do. Beth is incredible! Ten sessions later, I feel and see a huge difference. I am eating healthier, stamina has increased and my body is transforming!! I am so, so excited!!! I have never thought I could do this. Beth works me out with such a fantastic balance. They are challenging yet manageable and bearable. She is knowledgeable, strong and caring in everything she does. I actually look forward to my workouts! Beth, thank you and see you next week!

Beth, when i first started fit 4 Life I was very insecure because of my weight. Now I am feeling good in my own skin. The challenges were so much fun. Fit 4 life has shown me how to work hard for what I want and to not give up. Thank you so much for taking the time out to go to Rockland lake and teaching me how to ride a bike. I haven't given up the ''bike thing'' I am going to ride that bike by september. :) Thank you for your positive encouragement. I am going to work on the push-up's. lol. It's still not too late to change your mind on skydyving!!! haha. I will be in touch for the 5k. Thanks again for everything! ~SeRina*

I wanted to sincerely thank you for everything you did for me and the rest of the girls in the past 10 weeks. I literally cried on my way home. I think it is because I hate seeing things end. I know that this is not the end, it is just the beginning. You encouraged me every step of the way and without you I wouldn't have discovered this piece of me that was lingering inside and needed to be brought out. I looked forward to our workouts and was upset when I couldn't make a few. This 10 week journey has been one of the best things that I could have done for myself. I am mentally and physically stronger because of you, and for that I thank you. I look forward to our next journey

Last fall, my physical therapist recommended Jane to me after lengthy treatments for a couple of fairly serious injuries. Jane has been tremendously helpful and fun to work with. When I first started, post-injuries, I was in the worst shape I'd ever been in, and there were still some body areas that needed very gentle and slow work. Jane is extremely knowledgeable about exercise physiology and is always happy to answer my questions about body mechanics. She is totally encouraging, even when progress seems slow, while continuing to watch for those moments when I can go further, use heavier weights or try some new, challenging exercise. Now, almost four months later, I feel stronger than I have in years. Muscles I didn't know I had are now helping me do things I didn't think I could do!! Overall, I feel very energetic, and even feel more confidence in other areas of life. I would recommend Jane for anyone wanting to strengthen their body and feel better inside and out.

I have been working out with Beth for 2 months now and feel very fortunate to have been introduced to her. To be honest, I balked at having a female trainer when I first approached Nyack Fitness to discuss my fitness goals. I am lucky to have kept an open mind. Beth is a true pro and has helped me get back on track with a workout program I have not experienced in the past. The variety of exercises incorporates total body, which is new for a guy who has had many stops and starts on the road to fitness. Take “variety” literally, Beth has incorporated more exercise than I knew existed. My past gym experiences (sporadic at best) left much more to be desired than I realized. I am thrilled to have Beth's guidance and expertise to help me on what should be a life long endeavor for us all (keeping myself in check - just got back into this 2 months ago). Beth truly “walks the walk” as well. She is intensely focused on her own personal fitness, which includes a diet protocol that now makes me feel guilty when I break down and eat french fries (if you get on her good side, you can sample one of her oat bars). I also found it motivating to learn that Beth struggled with weight, diet, fitness, etc. as most of us do. Learning about the steps she took to overcome this, and how her new mind set took time to develop, provides a great perspective that the time you invest will pay off. This has been a help to me personally, as I still struggle mentally with the notion that a consistent workout routine will be a part of my life when this has not been the case in past. Beth has motivated me to keep focused and is genuinely interested in helping me make a permanent change. If you are thinking about working out for the first time, or need help getting back into it, I suggest you schedule time with Beth. She’ll take the time to understand your goals, will design a workout program around them, and will teach you how to do it right.

I started working with Beth in July to "jump start" my fitness program. I liked the workouts so much that 6 months later I am still working out with Beth. She is so reliable, so motivating, and so knowledgeable. Yet, she understands that we aren't always feeling up to working out--but she knows how to get us past the blahs. I have never ended a session with Beth where I haven't felt aswesome. I never feel too soar or underworked the next day. Her workouts are so nicely varied that I am also never bored--the problem with weight training for me in the past. She seems to have a bottomless supply of exercises, stretches, and nutritional advice. She is also such an upbeat and kind person that I always enjoyed talking with her during the workouts--when I wasn't huffing and puffing from yet another great exercise. As a woman, I found Beth had a better understanding of designing work outs for women than my previous trainers. I appreciate having added this new dimension to my life, and it wouldn't have been possible without Beth. Thanks...

Beth is fabulous. This is not the first time I have relied on a coach or trainer to help me with physical fitness. After years of sloth, I came back to the gym to work with a body that is 10 years older, and suffering from the ravages of 40 years of cigarette smoking. (I quit on Dec. 3, which is another story).
Beth is marvelous at reading me, my stamina and my ability to push beyond current limits and can strike the right balance between a workout that is challenging and one that is too punishing. (My breathing is a constant issue that is not subject to a formula of X reps and repeat). Our workouts are demanding and even more important- fun (since working out in a gym is, for me, a bore). We change routines frequently, and Beth can respond to my ever changing requests to focus on a particular muscle group, or avoid a temporary injury (I limped in the other day after chopping ice for an hour the day before).
With Beth's help, I am also working on long overdue rehab on a shoulder injury that never really healed quite right. Although she would be an Oscar-winner based on her knowledge and proven ability to guide, Beth takes it up an additional notch with a great sense of humor that is vital to her real world approach. Highest recommendation!

I was injured at work in 2006 and nearly crippled. The doctors suggested surgery but my results were limited. I struggled with back pain and immobility for years, gaining more and more weight as time went by. Each time I tried to start a training routine on my own it quickly resulted in re- injury and a painful setback. I was frustrated to say the least. I met Beth and explained my situation. Beth said that she hadn't worked with any one with a back injury before but she felt confident that she could help me. Beth made me feel comfortable right away. After one session I felt as if I had known her for years. Beth carefully designed a routine that strengthened my body without causing any further pain or injury. She is very knowledgeable and knows many different ways to work muscle groups and work around my injury. After months of training I feel stronger and more confident than I thought ever could again. I have no doubt that Beth will help me reach my personal goal and make a lasting change in my life. She has taken interest in every aspect of my fitness plan and even helps direct my diet! I never expected that!
Beth is a great personal trainer, and even more importantly I consider her a great friend. If you are serious about your fitness goals, Beth will get you there!

As someone who has never worked out before, this was all foreign territory to me. It was a pleasure meeting with Beth and getting familiar with the concepts of fitness training, all in the comfort of my own home. We started slow and gradually added more and more at a comfortable speed until I was able to do new things – it was fantastic feeling the increase in endurance! The house was transformed into a gym (the stairs became the stairmaster; the piano bench became the weight bench; the dog became the 15 lb weights). Thanks so much Beth for introducing me to all of this and having the patience to work through these new things with someone so uncoordinated and out of shape!
