The Heart Rate Monitoring system at Nyack Fitness sets the Aerobic Energy System to the Color “Green Zone”. The purpose of the challenge is to maximize your aerobic energy system this summer. The aerobic energy system utilizes fats, carbohydrate and sometimes proteins for re-synthesizing ATP (the byproduct that is broken down and used to produce energy during exercise). Wether you are an endurance athlete or frequent High Intensity Training, maximizing your output within the Aerobic System will increase your ability to produce more ATP at lower level intensities.
